After expectant mother Jenny Cole (Jane Seymour) starts having strange dreams of a distant time and place, she finds out that she drew pictures of a similar setting as a child. She eventually realizes that the visions are of a small Irish town during the 1930s, and starts to wonder if she's the reborn soul of a woman named Mary Sutton, who died giving birth there.
